Homemade tuna and pumpkin snacks for cats

The easiest and most delicious recipe can be an occasional supplement to your cat’s usual diet.

By preparing homemade dishes and recipes for your cats, you will be able to control the ingredients used in their food. This will allow you to avoid artificial additives, preservatives, colors and other non-desired ingredients, especially when they suffer from allergies or intolerances.

In all likelihood, your cat will not be able to resist this homemade tuna and pumpkin treat. Take note of the ingredients and have these snacks ready in just a few minutes!

INGREDIENTS:

  • ¼ can of natural tuna
  • ¼ cup of pumpkin puree (no sugars or species added)
  • 1 boiled and diced egg (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons of oat flour

DIRECTIONS:

  • Mix the well-drained tuna with the pumpkin puree in a bowl.
  • You can add the boiled egg if you want and mix well.
  • Create small balls or cookies and place them on an oven tray.
  • Preheat the oven to 180ºC and cook the snacks for 10-15 minutes. Make sure that they are golden brown.
  • Before giving them to your cat, let them cool down.
  • Store them in an airtight bag or container and consume them preferably within 7 days of cooking.

Remember that not every homemade recipe is suitable for cats and that it is essential to ensure that they have a well-balanced diet that meets their nutritional needs. For instance, some foods may be toxic to cats, such as chocolate, onion or garlic.

If you are thinking of including any changes in their diet, consult a veterinarian or a professional in animal nutrition.
